"Besides the education we receive at SER of PR, they prepare us to survive in a though and demanding world. They thought us how valuable is the human being in spite of any disability or limitation; and that in every problem there is an opportunity to succeed". Charlie Vargas, student at SER de Puerto Rico.
It can open new worlds for an adult or child with a disability. Call Easter Seals at (787) 767-6710 or, send email to nmorales@serpr.org |
Who We Are Our mission is: To provide programs and services to help disabled people to live with equality, dignity and independence. Our objectives are: To help disabled people achieve their maximum independence according to their abilities; to facilitate their integration into the community and develop better employment opportunities. Since 1950 we have helped in the rehabilitation of thousands of puertoricans, improving the quality of life in our society. The Society of Education and Rehabilitation (SER) derives the majority of its income from contributions of individuals and private entities through funs-raising activities. This income is used to their maximum extent, taking into consideration that our priority is the direct service provided to our patients. Internal accounting controls of our funds are an essential part of our management. This information is always available to the public. Eighty percent of the income we collect is used in direct service to our patients; being able to offer better quality of service rendered to our disabled children who dream of a successful and productive future. SER has achieved the National Administrative Excellence Award due to the adequate management of received funds.
"Being united is the beginning, to remain united helps us to improve our lives, and working as a group turns out into success." The continuous support of many generous corporations and individuals makes possible SER's success; as well as they make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children. Nilda Morales, Executive Director |
